Play & Creative Arts Therapists

BAPT Approved Supervisor®

I offer both online and in-person Clinical Supervision for Certified and Accredited Play Therapists, and also for Young People’s Counsellors, who wish to incorporate creative arts based approaches into their practice. I welcome therapists working within 0-5 years post qualification. My offerings benefit therapists who wish to integrate cognitive and creative reflective elements of practice.

Schools & Children’s
Services

Sometimes staff need an opportunity to reflect on their connections with children/young people with someone outside of a line management or leadership role. Having an impartial space to explore the impact of working with challenging and vulnerable children can improve staff wellbeing and inform best practice.
I offer 1:1 and small group supervision.

Benefits for staff:

  • A safe, reflective space to discuss the emotional impact of work-related challenges, develop coping strategies, reduce stress and burnout, and ultimately improve the quality of education for students.

  •  A space to reflect openly and honestly on specific situations, maximise on their professional and personal strengths, and develop new insights and approaches to challenging aspects of their work.

  • Staff morale is increased when leadership invest in the staff’s own emotional wellbeing. A sense of personal value is increased, and collaboration with colleagues is improved.

  • With increased understanding of the impact of trauma, emotional development and other factors explored in sessions, empathy increases towards the needs of more challenging communication styles of children with special educational needs (SEND) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH). This empathy in turn, leads to a desire to honestly evaluate their own communication styles, and to implement potential new ways of being with children in their care.

*In addition to therapy qualifications, I hold certification in Clinical Supervision and also in Leadership Studies.
